How to Get Good Luck: 9 Simple Ways to Attract Good Fortune
In this post, you will discover 9 tips that will help you get good luck. Luck is a concept that refers to events or circumstances that occur by chance, often without any apparent explanation or cause.
It is often used to describe positive or favorable outcomes that happen unexpectedly or inexplicably.
There are several simple things you can do to increase your luck. In fact, I have developed a practice that has increased my luck considerably over the years that I’m about to share with you.
Let’s dive in.
“Just My Luck”: The Story of How I Increased My Luck
One of my favorite ways to work with the energies of luck is to say “just my luck” whenever something good happens. Normally, people use this phrase to explain an experience of misfortune.
My friend Jim and I first started using this expression half-jokingly when we sailed together on the straits of the Pacific Northwest in Canada.
Whenever we had good weather and the wind was good and propelled us along, with big grins on our faces we would chime together: “Just our luck!”
I then started using it in other areas of my life. Every time something good happened to me I found myself saying, “Just my luck!” It became a habit, a ritual. And after a few months of doing this, something rather remarkable happened.
I actually began thinking of myself as lucky, and as living a charmed life. Without even realizing what I was doing, I actually became what I was describing to myself.
And now, as a result of having imprinted this wonderful belief several thousand times, I am a very lucky person. Unexpected lucky events happen to me all the time.
9 Ways to Get Good Luck
Remember that becoming lucky is not just about chance, but also about the mindset and actions you take to create opportunities and positive outcomes in your life.
By programming your mind to become more receptive to positive experiences and outcomes, you can increase your chances of experiencing luck in your life.
Here are some tips:
1. Be proactive
Take the initiative to create opportunities for yourself by seeking out new experiences, and expanding your horizons. Make your own luck by putting yourself out there and trying new things.
Luck favors those who take action.
If you have a goal or dream, take steps toward achieving it. Be proactive in seeking out opportunities that can help you reach your goals. When you put yourself out there, you allow the opportunities to become attracted to you since you are telling the energy web of all reality “Hey, I’m here! Send it my way!”
2. Be prepared
Luck often comes to those who are prepared. Educate yourself, develop new skills, and be ready to take advantage of any opportunity that comes your way.
In fact, it is commonly said that luck is when preparation meets opportunity. So while you wait for the next opportunity to present itself, do your homework and make sure you have everything you need to seize it when it comes.
3. Stay positive
Your mindset plays a big role in your luck. Focus on the positive aspects of your life and try to stay optimistic even in difficult situations. A positive attitude can attract more positive experiences into your life.
“He who says he can and he who says he can’t are both usually right”, said Confucius. By staying positive, you open your mind to the opportunities that come and inevitably increase your own luck.
4. Be Persistent
Luck often comes to those who never give up. Put in the effort to achieve your goals, and don’t give up easily. Persistence can pay off in the long run.
Luck may not strike the first time you attempt something – or the second time. But if you keep trying and keep a positive mindset about the process, it’s only a matter of time before luck favors you.
5. Be open to opportunities and new experiences
Luck often comes from unexpected sources and opportunities. Be open to new ideas, perspectives, and experiences, and be willing to experience what life has to offer. Be open to trying new things and meeting new people. Say “yes” to invitations and take advantage of opportunities that come your way.
6. Take the opportunities presented to you
My brother Tom once organized a hockey event for our family, booking a private box for a game. The arena was packed with twenty thousand hockey fans.
There is a raffle that happens at hockey games where the prize is one-half of the gross money received from the sale of the raffle tickets at the game.
It was presented to me to buy some raffle tickets and I did. Guess who won the 50/50 draw that night? I took home almost ten thousand dollars. Now when there is a raffle I always participate!
7. Practice gratitude
Gratitude can help you focus on and appreciate the good things in your life and attract more positive experiences. One of the great mysteries of life is when you vibrate the emotion of gratitude, the universe just gives you more to be grateful for! Take time to reflect on the things you’re thankful for, express gratitude regularly, and see what happens.
8. Challenge negative thoughts
Negative self-talk can hold you back from achieving your goals. Instead of dwelling on negative thoughts, challenge them by looking for evidence to the contrary or reframing them in a more positive light.
You are the creator of your thoughts. And at any given moment, you have the power to choose positive and empowering thoughts—thoughts that will attract luck to you.
9. Program your mind to be lucky
Every day, remind yourself that you are lucky, just like I did to program myself to be lucky. Acknowledging the good luck in your life will help you vibrate the energy of luck and attract circumstances and things of similar energy into your life.
Whenever something good happens to you, even if it’s as small and insignificant as finding an empty parking spot, you say: “JUST MY LUCK!”
Conclusion
I like to say that life is 90% of how you perceive it and 10% is life’s mysteries. Luck is part of that 10% of life’s mysteries.
Open yourself up to new opportunities and experiences that can lead to your success and good fortune. Pursue your passions, take on new challenges, and make bold decisions that align with your goals and values.
You may not necessarily know when it will arise but by taking proactive steps and creating opportunities for yourself, you can increase your chances of having random experiences of luck.
Good luck!
